Design diary

In 2009 illustrator Jake Parker started the Inktober initiative: he challenged himself to draw 31 drawings in 31 days. On paper with ink. Now this might not seem a big deal, but believe me, drawing constantly, coming up with new ideas every day for a month can be a real challenge.  With Erika we first  took part in Inktober in 2014. I love Halloween! It is spooky and funny in he same way. It is for us grown ups, but the best part is for the children: the candy, dressing up, trick or treating... A little story about our honeymoon  We got married in May 2017. One of those upside-down mornings gave me the idea to make this illustration. Sometimes we are all clumsy and start the day slow, but hey! We have to laugh about it and get on with a smile :) Check out this time-lapse video  about the drawing process: Hope you like it! Enjoy your coffee!

Gathering inspiration  When  I come up with a new idea I do some photo reference research, especially when I wanted to do design with animals. I went to Pinterest or Tumblr for inspiration and anatomy reference. After collecting what I like I do an inspirational board including a chosen color palette. 2. Drawing some sketches! After studying the forms I want to design, I grab a pencil and paper and...
